” ! @ ? ” by Paulus Cheung

The vast, empty space in ADM is hardly reflective of a design school while outdated posters and flyers are untidily pasted on pillars and walls dur to the lack of proper notice boards. The task was to enhance the usability and quality of the public spaces in ADM by creating a need-fulfilling installation that is aesthetically pleasing. The !@? is a series of human sized replicas that provide a space for pinning posters, notices or displays of any form, as well as serve as an ideal meeting place. They are brightly coloured and move about their bases to attract attention. The outer material is made of cork, making them ideal surfaces for putting up displays. The top halves of the ! and ? are connected to their respective bases via a metal spring, thus the interesting eye catching movement whenever physical contact is made. The bases are concrete filled to provide weight, instead of being permanently anchored to the ground, thus they can be stored away during functions held at the lobby area. The !@? is a fun and interactive solutions that will zest up the boring and lifeless ADM lobby.
