In the perspective of improving Product Design students preparation, this course consists of short workshops and lectures dedicated to practical (skill based) topics in the current Design field. Under the coordination of a Full-Time Faculty member, faculty members and practicing designers from the local scene will be invited to ADM to share their techniques, ideas and their experience with students.
Course Aims
- To develop and demonstrate proficiency in visual thinking and visualization skills using manual sketching techniques
- To develop and demonstrate proficiency in model making and finishing techniques to support all levels of the design process
- To develop and demonstrate proficiency in producing presentations, making color selections and applying physical ergonomics methodologies
Teaching Methods
Throughout the module, students will be exposed to a range of teaching methods and learning activities that consist of:
- Lectures to provide students with an understanding of fundamental ideas
- Individual learning through in-class assignments, design projects and independent research
- Group-based learning through class discussions, presentations and project works
- Field Trips
