PUBLIC SPACE

The project starts with an observation of public spaces, especially all the areas located within the NTU campus, to analyze the situations and activities carried on in these areas.

“In contemporary cities the life’s quality of the people is strongly influenced by the dimension and the quality level of the shared spaces…The quality of the urban furniture allows people’s frequent presence and enhances the perception of public spaces as an extension of the private one.”

On a second step, the project focuses on the ADM building. Students try to analyze ADM space as a constantly changing environment related to the student’s activities and interaction. Through their direct experience, they take into consideration all objects like benches, lights, shades, studying tables and relaxing seats or any other elements that could be designed to organize the school environment, and to analyze all the objects’ requirements to respond to the various needs and standards.

The intention of the project is to provide ideas and solutions for the reorganization of ADM public space.
