PRODUCT DESIGN

Technology Art in Fashion introduces clothing as a connective tissue between fashion, technology, science and art. Students will understand the functionality of clothing as protection, decoration, social status and personal expression, and the physique of body in relation to the shaping of a garment or accessory.

 

The course reviews body modifications and exaggerations as an art form. The examples of artistic garments/accessories are: the singing dress, color changing garment based on mood, temperature or pollution levels, the garment as an amplifier of fantasy, and an interconnected series of garments utilizing social media as an embellishment.
